Version2017 Installation Error

@Ben Wilson @wang.yang

Hi, Our client had met an error during Version2017 installation.

His computer system is Windows 7 64bit, and the installer would be cancenled automatically like the pic below.

And he tried to run the installer in compatible mode, but it can not finish the installation process like the pic below

The Version 2016 can be installed in the same computer without any problems. Can someone help me find out what happened?

Any differences/updates in 2017 vs 2016 that might result in the described symptoms?

@jing.chen,

Have you already checked the following:

  • proper permissions for the installation
  • plenty of available disk space
  • all Windows Updates are installed
  • tried the latest 17.0.2 installer

Why don't you try installing visual c++ redistributable for visual studio 2015 from the Microsoft website.

Is this vc-redistx64.rar? We had tried it, but it didn't work.

My client had tried all the steps on that page, but it still can not finish installation.

Now I post the error screenshot of Windows Event Viewer, and hope someone can help me.

Does the same error occur when trying to install 17.0.0 or 17.0.2?

You can also try right clicking the installer and selecting Run as administrator.
