Recording on screen messages

I have my model set up to have on screen messages pop up at key points in the simulation. I would like to use the film recorder to film the simulation, but I am having trouble capturing the on screen messages. Is there another way to model messages? For example, I have a message pop up when a robot loads an item with type 1, and a different message pop up with an item of type 2.

The Video Recorder can record the 3D view and Dashboards. Any other messages or GUIs will not be recorded. I would suggest putting a text field in a dashboard and display the message there, then have the Video Recorder setup to record the 3D view and Dashboard side by side.

Look in the User Manual under the Shared Sequences section to see how to create layers in your video.

You could also add a 3D Text object to your 3D view and put messages there. You could also set it to Screen Locked Billboard so that it stays flat on the screen if desired.
