How to create gantry movement

Hi, I'm still pretty new to Flexsim and I'm trying to simulate gantry movement from right to left when a vehicle arrives at a station, then again from left to right after vehicle 1 departs and vehicle 2 arrives at a station. Then process would then be repeated for each subsequent vehicle. The trigger for gantry movement should be when the leading edge of the vehicle arrives at the station. The gantry should stop when it reaches a pre-set point. I think a crane is too complicated for this task, and was thinking a task executor. Attached picture shows a little more detail. gantry-movement.jpg

From what you described, Andrew, I assume you just want to animate a movement of the gantry.

A. Put the shape of the gantry in the object of the taskexecuter and add a network of two network nodes parallel to the conveyor. Connect the taskexecuter to the network and dispatch an own tasksequence which let travel the gantry.

B. Look into the manual to animate objects. The Gantry is then the animated object.

C. Look for the keyword Kinematics. It is a method that animates object in Flexsim, too.

The methods A. to C. increase from easy to difficult to built, but in opposite they becomes easier to being controlled by events or triggers.
