Probably you want different looking items from a single source. Then you can use a trigger OnCreation with picklist option visual (green plus sign) to change the shape, or you use a visual activity where you change the shape, too. If you need later in your the ability to stack items, you should choose at start the basic item to be a pallet or a tote.
