Next Activity based on percentages

Hi,

I'm trying to have 4 activity destinations in a "Next Activity based on percentages". But when I click the “Add new pair” the the window just closes. I saw that there was a similar question here Jan 10^th, but I couldn’t find the solution to the problem. I’m only working with my laptop and do not have any other monitor connected.

(If you have an explanation for why the text under the items in the library are so small I would really appreciate that too).

The closing window problem is most likely caused by graphics card settings or an outdated graphics card driver. Send a screen capture of your sStart Page or Help > About FlexSim Healthcare... window.

The small text size is due to your display settings. In Windows: Select the Start Windows logo Start button menu, then type "change display settings" in the search box on the taskbar. From the list of results, choose Change display settings and then choose the size under Scale and layout. Change the text size to "100% (Recommended)".

I thought you were going to buy a whompin computer with a graphics card? ;-) I looked up your Intel HD graphics chip and didn't recognize the driver version you have. If you haven't upgraded the graphics driver yet, that's always a good thing to do, even if you've just purchased the computer.

One way you can test whether the graphics are causing the window close problem is to restart the software in compatibility mode. You can set this mode in File > Global Preferences > Graphics. Check the box titled "Compatibility Mode" at the top of the page, Apply, and then restart FlexSim HC.

Don't let the problem with not being able to edit the "Based on Percentages" option slow you down. Until we can figure out why you're having problems with that pick list option, you can proceed by either editting the code directly in the full page editor by clicking the code edit button (the icon to the right of the field that looks like a scroll), or by typing something similar to the following directly into the Next Activity field itself:

P(25,10, 35,20, 10,30, 30,40)

This statement will return activity 10, 25% of the time; activity 20, 35% of the time; activity 30, 10% of the time; and activity 40, 30% of the time. The P() command works for up to 9 pairs of numbers (18 parameters).
