Enter a negative number as the value for "First Failure Time".

I put a negative number in the first failure time field, and the uptime and downtime fields are ignored during the simulation, meaning that the equipment never go into a breakdown state.

I want to ignore the first time the machine breaks, but want to see how it randomly breaks during the simulation based on a duniform(a, b) distribution. @Joshua S

Place the same distribution in the first failure time and mtbf. EDIT: Then there isn't any difference between the first failure and mtbf. In fact I can't see any difference if the first failure occurs either by mtbf or first failure.
