Can we use the FlexSim webserver with a Runtime license ?

Hi,

Note: all tests below were done with FlexSim 18.0.6 and FlexSim Webserver 18.0.0.

Test 1. If I have an Enterprise license activated, the FlexSim webserver works fine.

Test 2. If I have no license activated, the webpage is empty:

And there is an exception in FlexSim:

Having no ability to use the webserver without license makes sense to me.

Test 3. If I have a Runtime license activated, the webpage is empty:

And there is an exception in FlexSim:

Why is it not possible to use the FlexSim webserver with a Runtime license ?

Software Version:

FlexSim 18.0.6

After looking in to this issue, this is a bug. Your use case should not require an enterprise license.

This has been fixed. The fix will be in the FlexSim 18.0.9 and FlexSim 18.2.3 updates.

So do you mean that actually the webserver is supposed to work fine with a Runtime license ?

It's being looked into if that was an intended limitation to the runtime license

Hi @Joshua S, I have done the same tests with FlexSim 18.2.0 and FlexSim Webserver 18.2.0. I get exactly the same exception when I try to use the webserver with a Runtime license, the webpage is empty.

Did you get some news from the developers on this topic ?

It is still on the developers list of things to look into, but no timeline.
