Simplest way to record hourly census data per area

Hi-

I need to record output data for hourly census in each bed and procedure areas. For example, I need to show the customers something like this:

PACU Beds

8am - 22 occupied

9am - 37 occupied

What do you think is the most straight-forward way to do this?

There's a dashboard widget called Census in the Locations panel for dashboards that will do the job if you choose a Box Plot as the Display Type and select 24 Periods per Day. If you don't want to display full box plot information for each period, but only the mean, you can uncheck the Show Box Plot box and only check the Show Mean box. Here's what it'll look like:
