Sketchup version for import

Imports from Sketchup seem to be available for Sketchup 2015 only.

Is it planned to catch up with sketchup last version or should we always expect to use older version of Sketchup ?

FlexSim 19.0.2

In an Answer from last month:

> Will Developers start to upgrade the Sketchup version that we can import? Currently, the oldest version is already 2014.

It is on the dev list to upgrade to a newer version of the Sketchup SDK to support newer versions than 2014.

@ Ben Wilson, Thanks for this answer. As far as I figured out the 2020 files of Sketchup are not supported in the newest releases of FlexSim. What would be a good way to bring this point on the list regularly?

FlexSim 2020 (released Dec 6, 2019) does not read SketchUp 2020 (released Jan 28, 2020) files.

Sketchup changes their file format every version of their software, but their latest version supports exporting to older versions. The current Sketchup for Web supports exporting SKP file formats 2017 - 2020.

We last updated the Sketchup importer in FlexSim 19.2 to support importing SKP file formats 7 - 2019.

We do not plan on updating the Sketchup importer every time Sketchup changes their format. We will update the Sketchup importer when the current version of Sketchup does not support exporting to a format that FlexSim supports, such as when Sketchup Make dropped support for exporting to Sketchup 2014.
