agv module vs node network

what is the difference between agv module and node network?

do they implement the same function?

the logic that node network can achevie ,and agv module can also acheive in another way? thanks a lot.

You can find lots of information on AGVs and Travel Networks in the User Manual. Pulling from those resources, we learn that AGVs are designed to simulate travel paths that use automatic guided vehicles (AGVs). AGVs can track "battery levels" of task executors, attach loads as trailers, and integrate way points for travel activities.

Travel Networks work in a similar way in that they define the specific paths that task executers can take between locations. They can be more cumbersome to set up, but they offer the ability to set "virtual distances" between nodes as well as Traffic Controllers, which can moderate traffic patterns.

It will be up to you to decide what to use. Ask yourself what kind of task executers you'll be using, what the layout of your facilities are, and what statistics you're trying to track in your model. If you have any specific questions about their capabilities, feel free to ask those as well. Hopefully this helps gets you started.

@Tanner Poulton

thanks for your assitance

i want to put some algorithm,such as astar ,Origin Ant colony algorithm into agv module or node network,may i acheive this ?i want to transfer the algorithm into flexscript ,Does flexsim software can execute the logic? thank you.

Hi @liu B,

A star is included in the standard FlexSim library. It may be possible to incorporate the Origin Ant Colony algorithm into the AGV module. However, we would need to know more detail about what you are trying to simulate and what you are trying to accomplish. Consider posting a new question with these details.

One difference I have found out recently is in using Offset Travel movement and alternate exits from the load/unload point back to the network. The AGV network is not set up to do this, so if that is something you want to do then you would be better using the Network Nodes.
