What does the property up do?

In Destination Tab token.Item.up. Why is .up is used. What is the significance of using .up. When should we use this command

The destination is an object like Rack, Queue or Processor. Token.Item is a reference to the item inside of an object. The object is a container for the items stored or processed there currently. The property up gets us the reference of this object. up in the manual
