I am not sure what you are trying to accomplish. Could you clarify what you are having issues with? Here is documentation on the split: Split Activity.
The Split activity doesn't split items in the 3D view. It splits the entering token into more tokens. If you wan to split an item in the 3D view either use the Split Quantity field on the Separator object or use the Create Object activity to create more items.
