Hi @Sridhar B,
Was Mano's answer helpful for you? If so, can you please click accept? If not, how else can we help?
Hello @Sridhar B, Yes it is possible to test the entire PLC program with FlexSim by connecting the FlexSim model of the production line with the real PLC via the OPC server. We can do this bidirectionally also, which means we can receive PLC commands and also send commands from the FlexSim model to the PLC via the OPC server. FlexSim supports OPC DA, OPC UA, Modbus and TCP/IP protocols.
So the FlexSim model can be used to test the PLC program and can also be used to visualize the production line or control the production line by directly receiving data from the PLC and / or sending data from the FlexSim model or the PLC in real time.
You can also use a PLC emulator program to check the PLC behavior - which means you do not need to have a real PLC and this PLC emulator will replace the real PLC and make it possible to test the PLC program in a FlexSim model. Nevertheless, all the communication will still occur between the FlexSim model and the OPC server.
Regards, Mano
