Reversing Conveyor AGV Pickup and Drop

Greetings,

In the attached model, there are 3 stations with queues for a drop point and a pickup point for each station. AGVs pick up parts from "Supply" and deliver to the drop points of any of the 3 stations. They then travel on a conveyor, wait at the end to complete an operation and travel back to the pickup point of the station.

Currently, I have two conveyors with opposite directions overlapping each other to mimic a reversing conveyor. Is there a way to achieve what I'm trying to do by using just one conveyor and one queue connected to a single control point for the drop and pick up of the part?

Thanks,

Amit

@Amit K2. You should upload again the sample file. The link looks like corrupt. It can not be downloaded.

And you need to study a sample model for your issue followed;

@Seung Yong Seo, I started putting the model based on the link you provided and this. I have attached the model again. I hope it can be downloaded now.

Hi @Amit K2,

Did Seung's suggestion solve your problem? I think the key is to set your conveyor's target speed to a negative number when you want to reverse it.

@Amit K2

I think you should consider more things about the Queue in the front and back of the single In/Out conveyor. If the queue should have only ONE capacity, you can solve your issue only using Process Flow.

If only one capacity in the queue is permitted, the queue should close the input port after sending the item to the conveyor and until the item will come back from the reversing conveyor. But the queue can't receive the came-back item because of the input port of the queue closing.

I attach the sample model about explaining it.

But you can solve it using Process Flow.
