Tracking an Item throughout Production

Hey!

I have my simulation with many different items. Now I want to see the lead-time of one car. The car consists of different parts, that can be produced parallel. Therefore, getting the lead-time seems difficult to me.
How can I track each Item necessary for the car in order to get the right time?

Sorry for my late reply! No, it was not solving my problem but nevertheless, I handed my model in and I do not have any further questions. Thanks for your patience and help!

Hi @dominik.k, did you think about measuring the whole order/ car in parallel process? So I would not track tires and Motor and Windows seperatly and later try to batch it together but create an Order/ a car token in a parallel PF Process (always only wayting for the next steps). And track only this token(s).

Thanks for the answer! This might be it, thanks!
It is not very clear to me how I could make a parallel process that tracks an order - I mean, how can I tell my PF what a car consists of and track the time from "Order received" to "Order finished"? Furthermore, in my simulation, I have different sizes of Tires, windows and motors (S, M, L).

Hi @dominik.k, this seems to be the part that makes it an little more difficult :-). My questions are: do you know what parts you want to use for what car as soon as you produce them? Or is it more like you create parts to a buffer and every car/ order grabs stuff from this buffer with special properties?

Danke Sebastian!

Besten Dank!
