Save or reset without changing operator pose

I have been using the REBA model found in https://answers.flexsim.com/idea/32003/ergonomics-features-in-flexsim-1.html off and on for a few years now.

Unfortunately, in FlexSim 20 saving or hitting reset loses the operator's pose; he goes back to a default standing upright. I'm guessing this has to do with the change that made operators not stand with their arms out to their sides. Is there a way to disable this behavior so I can save my models?

Thanks,

Craig

@Craig DIckson,

Just to clarify, are you unable to save the models at all?

Or do you need the operator's "pose" saved, which you're saying you can't do since the update?

If the latter is the case, you can take a screenshot of the pose if you just need the visual. Otherwise, I'm not sure what other reasons there would be for saving the model with the operator "pre-posed". Maybe you could explain more detail of what you need and we can find a way to get it to work.

Ben, I can save, but the poses are lost. For an analysis we will save a version of the model for each pose; we don't want to have to re-enter every value to make a minor position change in an analysis. (As you probably noticed this is an oddball model that doesn't use any time element, just the visuals and some math.)

I was able to replicate your issue with the Trunk values. The Neck values seem to save fine in both 17.1.6 and 20.2.3.

If you uncheck the Do Animations box on the operator, then the Trunk values also save correctly in 20.2.3 as they did in 17.1.6.

Pressing reset puts the operator back to its original pose in either version of the software, with or without changing the checkbox.

Hi @Craig DIckson,

The operator in @Clair A's model resets its pose in version 17.1 as well when you reset the model.

Your question implies an assumption that something changed and is asking how to make it not change, but nothing appears to have changed.

This model is behaving identically in 17.1.6 as it is in 20.2.3. Is there something we are missing? Help us understand more what is happening and what you think should happen. Some screenshots could be helpful.

@Ben Wilson In the past, when I posed the operator using the inputs on the REBA input dashboards, the position was remembered when I saved, exited and re-entered the model. Currently all the inputs are lost when I do this; the operator goes to his default upright pose with his arms by his side. I am guessing it has do with the change that doesn't leave the operators standing with their arms straight out when the model starts? I was hoping there's a way to disable that behavior for this model. I guess worst case I can save the values in a table and write some startup code to re-pose him, but I was hoping to avoid that.

@Craig DIckson,

Thanks for the additional info. Phil's solution of unchecking Do Animations should get you back to the previous behavior.

You can also try turning off the Operator Animations:
