Travellers on network immediate motion

Hello,

I have a problem I would like to solve using travel networks. Travellers need to travel along the network and stop at certain points for certain periods of time and after resuming motion both travelers have to immediately move further (currently, the one behind is stopping for a small period of time before continuing travel.

Before you recommend using conveyors, it is not possible since at some points travelers have to go back (switching directions on conveyor not possible, I had some success with setting speed to minus, but that has limited applications). Below is a small model if any has any ideas.

Thanks in advance.

Hi,

I have redesigned your model using the AGV network. Maybe this solution will be ok for you?

Hello Tomasz,

thanks for the reply and I should have been clearer, I have also tried using AGV network, but that was not good enough (though you get that momentary movement as soon as traveler clears the point, there is still that slight delay for traveler to clear control point).

Perhaps to clarify why I need such accuracy - the line I am modelling is really fast, and every split second matters. The line consists of 'travelers' moving around a table (not a roundtable with fixed slots - every traveler is separately controlled). If you have any suggestion, would be appreciated.

Best regards

Another attempt with the AGV network:

You can customize the deallocation behaviour. By default it waits for the trailing edge of the object to pass the control point. You can change this to be the center (plus a tiny distance so the control is not deallocated when the traveller stops there).

This will get the second traveller to also resume travel practically immediately.

Thanks Felix, this solution might actually work, was not aware of such level of customization for AGV travel network (my limited knowledge with them).

Best regards!
