The product stop flow in Flexsim Floworks

Hello,

I am using floworks to distribute the product. The problem happen, when I run, it distribute perfectly from source to c115 to c116 and distribute simultaneously to f101,c117 and c102 . when second product from the source came, the three tanks stop receiving the product.

I using trigger (on empty ( open input close output)), (on reset ( open input close output)), (on full( close input open output)), (on layer change ( pass product downstream)) . This trigger apply to all tank.

I assume theat the product stop at c116 due to the tank at f101, c117 and c102 neither open their input or output.

Can anyone suggest a solution to this, thank you.

Hi @Aliff ,

You are using balanced flow on rate %, which means that all the output ports get products based of the ratio of the percentages. This could mean that if one of the 3 output ports is unable to receive any product that all output ports will not receive any product. The max rate for that first port is 0, so the others will get 0.33 * 0.

Maybe this is the case in your model, but it is a bit hard to see from just the picture (in the picture it looks like the inflow to pipe 6 is closed?, so that would mean no product out of C116).

If this does not already help to solve the issue, could you attach the model file to your post? That would help us solve your question.

Hi @Aliff ,

You will need to start using the FloWorks dropdown options for closing and opening the ports, so:

and not use the Close and Open ports dropdown. FloWorks does some more rate calculations when the ports are closed or opened, so that is why you need the FloWorks options. Hope this helps
