Z-coordinate of conveyor changes when on a plane and the plane is copied

Hi,

This might be related to my previous question, but will write it as a separate one anyhow as it might be a different issue.

What I have noticed and what is seen in the attached model is that when I copy a plane with a straight conveyor on it then the z-coordinate of the straight conveyor might change. It seems that if the height of the conveyor is 0.02 meters or less at both ends (model in meters) then when the plane is copied the z-coordinate of both ends changes to 1 meter. If the height is 0.03 meters then the z-coordinate stays at this value when copied. In another model with a bit more complex conveyor system the conveyors move to z=1 also when they are at z=0.05 meters before copying. Not sure why that happens.

Any clue of what is happening and if this is a bug?

Thank you!

Kind regards,

Axel

When you create a conveyor either by drag-dropping or copy-pasting, if it is on the ground, its z-loc gets bumped up by the conveyor type's leg height.

If you have conveyors that are purposefully on the floor at 0 z-loc, then you should adjust their leg height to 0:

Thank you @phil

Now I can get the conveyor to be at the height I choose when copied (directly or through user library) when I set the leg height to the desired value.

Just out of curiosity, what is considered to be "on the ground"? There seems to be a cutoff value of around 0.1 meters for my complex system and 0.02 meters for the simple straight conveyor on a plane system. With this I mean that below this value the copied conveyor on the plane takes the height from the leg height and not from the z-coordinate before copying.

Thank you!

The threshold value is calculated based on the Snap Threshold on the General tab of the Conveyor System Properties.
