Synchronize multiple task sequences with multiple processors

task-sequence-to-improve-autosave.fsm

hello everyone

I tried to do the simulation of multiple task sequences with multiple processors but I have once again big problems

please give a look on the model attached.

what I want from my model to do is :

- all the operators should be supplied from the same pallet source

- every operator has his own cylinder source (represented by the same color as the operator).

Exactly as the operator in yellow works, I want from the other operators to go take the pallet, after take their own cylinder (same color as the operator) and go through the two common processor ( combiner and processor) and at the end finish in their own color processor.

the operations should be synchronized (only one operator could use the combiner and when he finished the second one could use it, and so one) , not 2 operators at the same time on the combiner or on the other common processor.

I really need to synchronize these task sequences.

Any help will be appreciated

Many thanks in advance.

Have you looked at using Process Flow? There's a great Process Flow Task Sequence tutorial in the user manual that may help you out.

Rod,

I didn't quite get your model modified today but I will get it to you tomorrow. I basically am converting it to a Process Flow model as Matt describes in his reply. I love writing hand coded task sequences but even this is easier done in Process Flow.

@rod ,

Attached is your model with the wholesale changes that I've made. Like I mentioned before, I enjoy writing custom task sequences. But unless you are the only one looking at the model and trying to follow the various TS, it would really be hard for someone from the "outside" to look at the model and know exactly what is happening and what will happen. That is why I chose to "gut" your model of the custom TS and convert your model using a Process Flow to drive all the "hard" parts of the model.

I'm sure there are numerous ways to improve, arrange, consolidate and so forth the Process Flow. So I would invite anyone with Process Flow ideas for a better PF for this model to change it and post them here for everyone's learning. I just tried to do it in a way that I hope was clear exactly what was happening. Again, I'm sure there is a lot of room for improvement.

Anyway, take a look at the model and see if, in fact, it is doing what you were wanting it to do.

@rod,

After looking at your request again, I noticed that in the first model I sent, I was not letting another operation happen at the comber until the processor was also finished. In the attached model, I've corrected that problem and allow the next operator to proceed after the comber is finished with the previous operation.

Will this task-sequence-to-improve-jn2.fsm work better for you?
