What is the difference between the down behavior options ?

Hello,

Here are two screenshots of the different available down behavior of my model :

1) Could you please tell me what is the max delay ? Is it the maximum time the object can take to finish an ongoing task before going down ? If so, will the length of the scheduled downtime be reduced?

2) What is the difference between unavailable, full break and premptable ? Is it :

  • unnavailable & full break : the object cannot be used before the end of the down time
  • premptable : the object can be used before the end of the down time. In that case, when the task is done, will the object go down again ? will the actual down time length change ?
  • Related to "priority" ?

3) In the first screenshot, it is possible to select one of the downtime or to select "custom". What is custom ?
Thanks in advance for the help you could provide :)

Leah

Thank you @Matthew Gillespie ! I was looking for this page. I still have a few questions though :
  • What is "custom" option for down behavior in a time table?
  • Is the "variance" value a function or an integer?
  • Is "max delay" the max duration of the down behavior?

@Leah R

  • Custom means it won't use a down behavior and will instead use the functions defined on the Time Table's Functions tab.
  • Variance is either a function or a number.
  • Max Delay "defines the longest amount of time the break will attempt to acquire the resource for before cancelling the break."
