Slug building on belt (non-accumulating) conveyors

This isn't so much a question as a pointer.

I had a model using a slug building conveyor. The conveyor engineer decided to change it to build the slugs from the back on a belt, so that the release speed can be much higher (the packages would slip on a fast-moving roller). Luckily FlexSim does accommodate this if you uncheck "accumulating" on the slug conveyor (and presumably change the conveyor visualization also).

But I discovered one major caveat. To make non-accumulating slug building work, the stopping space on the conveyor upstream must be <= the entry space on the slug building conveyor. If this is not true, the first item enters the slug conveyor, and then nothing else happens.

This is not a constraint using accumulating slug building conveyors, so I am not sure if this is a bug, done on purpose, or a side effect that FlexSim decided to accept, but at any rate I'm hoping my challenge helps someone else.

I included a model that demonstrates this.

Craig

Hello @Craig DIckson

This is not a bug. The documentation for this can be found here.
