Decision Point distance for sending flowitem

HI !
We are trying to do a simple conveyor logic but in a tiny space. According to where we place the decision points, the redirection of the flowitems are done correctly or not.

The problem for one point is that we have little space for the decision point and it does not work when we place it there. On the attached image, i have circled in red the place the decision point should be and where it does not work to redirect the flowitems on the path drawn by the black arrows. In green is the place, where the decision point is to make the logic work. But we can't place it there.

The decision points are firing with the leading edge.

Are we missing something here ?

Update:

I think once the item leading edge is past the side transfer, it cannot be redirected. But this seems strange. The trigger on the decision point is working, but the redirection is not.

Hello @Sebastien,

from your screenshot it looks like the leading edge of the item might already be past the center of the decision point when it enters from the lower conveyor (based on the size of the default box). Thus, the logic of the decision would never trigger.

Maybe try switching it to trigger with the item center.

Unfortunately, "item center" is making things worse for the other decision points and is also not working with this one. I think once the item leading edge is past the side transfer, it cannot be redirected. But this seems strange.

That seems strange indeed, as even the following placement works fine for me:

Conveyor_Test.fsm

And yes, you are right, leading edge or center doesn't make a difference here.

Have you tried disconnecting and reconnecting the side conveyors. I've had problems with connections sometimes not being recognized correctly for some reason.

If that doesn't work, would you be able to upload the relevant part of the model? Or show the settings of the decision point?

I think my fingers are cursed. I tried doing the same conveyor logic in your model and it does not work.

- Conveyor types are the same.

- Flow item size is different but i tried with the same flowitem size too

- Decision Point is triggered with the flowitem center

I tried disconnecting and reconnecting again but it does not work. I might be overseeing a very simple thing.
