Experiment With Process Parameters

Hi there,

I built this model which describes the ED patient path. I would like to experiment with the model parameters namely # MDs, # RNs and # Exam tables. I created the parameters and the performance metrics I care about, but it seems like I missed something critical since the two scenarios I tried yield the same results. I look forward to your suggestion to fix the issue!

I add that the patient are prioritized based on their acuity, so it would be great if the metrics broken by acuity for each scenario.

It seems like you just added appropriately named parameters. In order for them to affect the model, you have to connect them to the relevant part of the model.

In this case you want the parameters to influence the number of staff/locations in a group. There is an option for this if you use the sampling tool to set the parameter's reference to a group.

"Set Number in People Group" should be used if the respective objects should persist in the model even if they are inactive (such as the exam beds). This option will not add new objects to the model. The maximum allowed number has to be present in the group when setting this option.

"Delete and Copy Group Members" will, as the name suggests" remove/add objects to the model as needed (copies will have all properties of the first object in the group, including the starting location).
