Processor running without assigned Operator

I was running the experimenter to see the results of adding an additional shift. This shift was managed by its own schedule, technicians and processors - separate from the existing operations.

The results from the experimenter weren't aligned with my expectations - in fact they were somewhat nonsensical. I started observing the model in 3D run mode removing any interaction of the new shift Operators to see what was going on.

I noticed that the new shift processors had started operating, despite no assigned operators for the task. Why is this happening? I suspect that this odd behavior might be behind the results I am seeing.

Is it possible for operators to be called into other operations that their dispatcher is not assigned to?

TIA

Dustin

The processors in your screenshot don't have any centerport connections, so I guess those aren't the relevant ones?

It might be possible that the operators are preempted away from the task by the shift schedule if you have set behaviours that have them travel somewhere/do something.

It's difficult to diagnose without seeing the model. You could make the question private so only FlexSim staff can see it if that would be ok. Otherwise it'd be great if you could try to recreate the problem in a small example model.

It is those processors in that screenshot (without center point connections), that are commencing and completing tasks, despite requiring operators for the task.

Its magic I guess - if only our processes worked like that in real life

Could you then post a screenshot showing the settings of those combiners and how the operator is referenced in them?

Because the processor in your second screenshot uses a center connection, which as you say, is not the case for the revelant ones.
