Why do the trucks drive through each other in the attached model?

I've set A* collision avoidance to ON and yet the trucks drive through each other all the time while loading and while traveling.

Why?

I found the answer by increasing the node size (which is counter intuitive...).

But I can't accept my own answer to my question, so should I just delete the entire post ?
