How to set the decimal precision of a dashboard input linked to a global variable

I tried to use Edit > Model Settings > Decimal precision and changed the value from 2 to 3, but I don't know why it's not working. I need to setup my decimal precision to 0.000 instead of 0.00 which is the default.

Thanks.

What are you trying to accomplish? Model precision affects many of the values in FlexSim, but not all of them. It also doesn't affect the behavior of commands like numtostring.

I am using a Dashboard with a model input to set up the x,y,z size of the object. To do it I'm using a Set Size trigger "OnCreation" in the source. The problem is, when I type any value in my dashboard that has more than .00 of precision, the systems rounds it. See attached.

See my answer, but saving the model and reopening it fixed this issue on my end.

In version 16.0 there are a few issues with precision UI settings that have been fixed for the upcoming 16.1 release.

Example

After changing the precision to 3 and clicking on a 3D object the General Properties panel looks like this:

The bottom two rows are using the new precision, but the top row is not. The easiest way to get around this issue is to save the model after you change the precision setting, and then reopen that model.

Now the properties look like this:

So try changing the precision, saving the model, and then reopening it. If that doesn't work could you please give us an example of what's not working?
