Can MTEI sanity checking be added?

Can FlexSim add optional sanity checking when importing MTEI tables? For example, if the referenced Excel sheet has blank or questionable data (such as type mismatches, negative values found where positive values are expected, etc.), can it present this as an warning prompt to the user before proceeding with the import? This would be a big help for models with lots of MTEI entries.

You may want to flesh out your thoughts and post your suggestion as a new idea where other users could comment on it and upvote it, rather than posing this as a question. Some thoughts to consider: What sort of interface are you imagining? How would it be powerful, yet keep the interface from being too complex to easily figure out for a first-timer?

Each user's data requirements are unique. The size and configuration of their tables are unique. Right now a bespoke, per-client solution (custom coded Excel import) is the way to do it, using FlexSim's excel...() commands.

Or custom code in the Post Import Code that loops through your tables and sanitizes it according to your needs using the table commands.

Would one option be to add a preview button that works in a similar way to the dbviewtable() command when working with SQL imports. Run the Excel import and just show the data that would have been imported - I do this for my SQL imports as a debug step anyway especially when dealing with String/Number combinations.

I started using FlexSim 2018 and it appears to have an MTEI data preview now. This should work nicely for the issue I described above. Thanks!
