How do I change a patient's accessory?

In a model I'm working on, if an exam room is not available for a patient and the triage station is open, the patient is taken to the triage station for triage. If after triage, an exam room is still not available, the patient returns to the waiting room. I would like to put a red baseball cap on the patient going to the waiting room from triage just for visual identification during the process. I do not want to change the patient's color just change an accessory .

One solution that you could do, is go into the PCIs, and then click on the Edit Patient Visuals button. (The icon with red/blue/yellow people on it) Then click on your tool box, and click on the patient visuals, you can now drag a "Man" visual from the left panel into the Patient Visuals panel.

Click on the new Man model you just created in the Patient visuals and over on the quick properties on the right, under accessories you can choose baseball cap. You should now have a another visual of a second Man wearing a baseball cap.

Finally in your patient track, under the desired Activity, go into Advanced functions. And in one of the triggers, create a new trigger instruction. (Under Change > patient visuals)

Now instead of "Man" select the name of the new visual you created with the baseball cap (By default this will be "Man2")

That should then change the visual of anyone going through that activity to the new visual.

Sam, Thanks for your prompt response. Sorry I haven't replied earlier but you know how things go.

I was trying to avoid the process you described above because I have a large number of providers and I hate to duplicate that number merely to get a visual identifier on the patient. As I remember, you could change patient accessories in version 4 of FlexSim HC. I wonder why that code wasn't included in version 5. I may look up the code in an older model to see how the process was accomplished.

In the meanwhile, I have found the patient's overhead display DISPLAY_TRIANGLE which I can turn on when the patient goes into the waiting room from triage and turn off when the patient leaves the waiting room. I think that will be distinct enough for my purposes.

Happy New Year to everyone.
