webserver

@Matt Long

Hi Matt, I recently download the 2017 version in my local computer, and I realize that for webserver you have now the possibility to load models "correct me if I´m wrong". activating this feature in the text file in Flexsim right?

Nevertheless I have Flexsim 2016.2 in my server, and when I connect to this pc shows me the new version of webserver application... but without show me any instance. (I have previously using this server to load some instance)

Do you have any clue what its happening? my local pc its 2017 version, and the remote desktop its 2016.2....

Second questions... If I would like to have split folders instead of only "documents/Flexsim" I would like to have at least 2 or 3 folders, and be able to select any of those folders though webserver, it that possible? the reason that I would like to do this its because I rather want to split projects or users.

3ª Its any update for webserver in this 2017 version that we should know?

Thanks for your time!

The "flexsim webserver configuration.txt" file contains the path to the FlexSim version that it will use.

The versions of FlexSim that are installed are irrelevant; it opens whatever version it is configured to open.

Also, the versions of FlexSim installed on a local computer have nothing to do with the html pages you are returned when you connect to a webserver. You connect to the webserver using a web browser on any device (iPad, Mac, PC, phone, whatever); the installed programs on that device don't matter.

The model directory folder is also configured within the configuration file, and you can organize your models in subdirectories within that directory.

I'm not sure if I understand what this means: "for webserver you have now the possibility to load models. activating this feature in the text file in Flexsim right?"

You have always had the capability to upload, download, or delete models using the webserver if you enable those features in the configuration file. That's not a new feature.

"Do you have any clue what its happening?" I don't even have a clue understanding what you are trying to say is happening.

@phil.bobo what I mean its that I connect to the same address, and from my computer it shows one screen where I have this feature "up load a model" and from others computers this feature does not shows... apart of that webserver works fine from others computers but not mine....

take a look to the pictures... one of this is from my laptop and the other one its another laptop, the address is the same, what changes is that one computers its in company domain and the other no, but the server is the same.

Thanks for your reply Phip, sorry to be a pain....

@Oscar Perez It sounds like your server isn't passing the requests on to the webserver dll when you access the webserver via http://siaceflex/.

If you press F12 and look at the console I expect you would see some failed AJAX request errors.

Make sure the document mode is set to 'Edge'.

You may have the site in the compatibility view list.

Check under: Tools > Compatibility View settings
