Flypath for an accelerated video

I want to create a video of the simulation at a 3x speed.

If I create a 20 sec flypath and I create a 60 sec video, the flypath is executed 3 times.

This happens either with the option "Match the flypath time to the model time" flagged or not.

I thought that with that option disabled the 20 sec video matched the flypath.

What's the difference between activating it and not?

The "Match the flypath time to the model time" button affects the Play button ("Run the current flypath") on the Presentation Builder. It makes the flypath either run by itself based on real time (for quickly seeing and building the flypath), or the flypath runs with the model using simulation time (for actually running the flypath with the model).

If you are recording a video with the Video Recorder, the model runs at an arbitrary speed (as fast as it can render each frame) with respect to real time. The video recorder always runs the flypath in simulation time.

If you want the video to show the simulation at 3x speed, change the Speed from 1 to 3 on the video recorder.

If you want your flypath to span 60 seconds of simulation time, adjust it to be 60 seconds long.

Thank you Phil. Too gentle, I just wanted to know if it could affect the video recorder.

Phil, I have the same problem described in this post from yesterday: https://answers.flexsim.com/questions/65248/fly-path-speed-is-too-fast-even-if-i-toggle-the-bu.html?childToView=65250#comment-65250

But if I create a flypath that's 60 seconds long and my model speed is set at 2, the resulting flypath (in the created video) will be 30 seconds long. That's what happens now.

So if I want a 60 seconds flypath, I'd have to create it 120 seconds long. Is this what I'm understanding?

Yes, the flypath timing is how much simulation time it takes to run, not how much time it takes in the final recorded video file.
