LIcense Server is not working

Hi, I installed a Flexera Server in Amazon Web Services Cloud for using with our University Educational LIcense Pack, but when We tried to connect PC Clients it can´t load any license. We checked all about connectivity, ping and telnet works fine, We configure port@ip at license (help / license activation/ License Server) but nothing happens, PC Client continue in Express / None license mode.

Any idea?

@Victor Esquivel Mendez

We have never tested installation of a FlexSim license server on an Amazon EC2 instance, however, it appears from FlexNet's documentation that it should be possible.

Has anyone out there in the community successfully used an EC2 instance for hosting their FlexSim licenses? Please let us know in the comments, along with anything you may have learned that will help others with the same.

Here are a few ideas. Please check the following:

  • Are you using lmadmin or lmtools?
  • Do the licenses appear in flexsimserveractutil.exe, via the main menu > Tools > View License Rights?
  • When viewed there in flexsimserveractutil.exe, do the licenses have Status: Enabled? What about Trust Flags: Fully Trusted?
  • Do the FlexSim features show up in the dashboard (lmadmin) or vendor daemon log (lmtools)? (FlexSim features are, for example, consolescript, entiretree, compile, nomodellimit, etc).
  • Have you reviewed Flexera's notes for installing FlexNet Publisher on a virtual machine? (Search for "Amazon" in the FlexNet Publisher release notes. Also see Flexera's License Administration Guide, Chapter 16 - Licensing in a Cloud-Computing Environment, also search that document for "Amazon").
