Change in Conveyor Type After Exporting

Hi,

I have a conveyor type with certain parameters. When the same particular conveyor is copied to an another model the type properties changes to default value. Only the size parameters persist.

I conducted another test by exporting the conveyor type and import into another model, still for the conveyor type the type properties changes to the default.

Even when we save the conveyor as a user library in the drive and after importing it into another model the properties are changing to the default.

Am I doing something wrong here or the conveyor module behaves like this?

The problem we are facing is lot of time is taken for exporting and configuring conveyor objects in one model to another model. Is there any trick to be done ?

Pls correct me if I am wrong anywhere.

Regards,

Arun KR

The conveyor types are tied to individual conveyors with a pointer (by reference). When you copy the object and paste into another instance of FlexSim, that pointer is lost. Unfortunately it looks like Conveyor Types are not saved in User Libraries, however they should be. Using user libraries would be the correct way to copy conveyors to other models. We'll have add that to our dev list.

You are able to store the type from the tools as a tree file. Then you can import them or load this file again to get access to these conveyor types. You have to set the conveyor types in each conveyor.

Thanks, import of conveyor type is working. But it will be more easier if the conveyor type is also copied when a conveyor of particular type is copied to another model. Instead of changing the type after import.
