Following the tutorials is a great way to become acquainted with process flow and the ways that it can help you build a more personalized custom model. You could also try to recreate older models that you originally made using just 3D objects and see how you could adjust them using PF to make them more accurate to real life, add more specific processes, or just further develop the model. The best way to learn process flow is to practice and use it as much as possible!
