items are sent on the conveyor but during the simulation the feeding conveyors keep sending items but it looks they disappear or merge with other flow items before they get to the merging conveyor. what wrong? I tried using restricted area and slug conveyors but it keeps doing the same thing.
The conveyor module is a great step in FlexSim, because the conveyor behave similar you would expect it in reality without a physical reality check. This means you have to add sensors (decision point, photo eye) to control the interface between objects. The entry and exit transfer are interfaces between the module system and the standard FlexSim objects. You want to prevent an overlap, you stop the item at a photoeye. You resume the item if there is a gap on the conveyor detected by another photoeye. That's what you would do on a real conveyor, too.
