Save state in model with conveyors does not work for me

Hi,

I have a model with conveyors in it and I want to save the state after some time. Saving the state works good and I am able to open the state and it all looks like the state I saved. The problem is when I press run again, then I get a lot of exceptions.

Is it possible to use save state in a model with conveyors? If yes, how can I do that?

I have made a really simple example model with just one conveyor: state-autosave.fsm

Without the conveyor in it works good, but with the conveyor gives problems.

Thanks for your time,

Patrick

The save state feature does not always load into a state that you can run from anymore. It can be useful for seeing a snapshot of the model at a certain time, but not for running again from that point. Several of the new module objects have not been designed to run again after loading their state, such as conveyors and various process flow activities.

Hi, may I know why the new module objects are not designed to be able to run from their saved states? We have a model that runs for really long time. Sometimes a bug is observed several hours (real time) into simulation. This feature would be very helpful for debugging such models.

Could you share with us what are the things done when savestate/loadstate commands are called? How can we read the contents of the saved state file? More importantly is there anything that we can do on our own to make any generic model run from the saved states? Thank you.

Unfortunately, there is no way to build a model to enable running from a saved state. It is unusual for us to remove a feature; we avoid it if at all possible. In this case, however, we determined that removing this feature, while it would be missed by some users, would enable us to make FlexSim better for nearly every user.
