Outflow of the Tank

Is tank can have an outflow only when it is full? If not, how to set the properties of the tank so that it can have the outflow when the tank is filling up?

Hi @Najwa S,

The FlowTank can have output when it is not full. You can set the maximum in and outflow rate in the properties page of the tank:

In the simple example model I attached you can also see that the tank has outflow when it is not full.

If you have any other questions just let me know,

Patrick

The flow of the tank has been set as the same as your example. However, when I run the model, the max outflow is 1.000 but actual outflow is 0.000 as you can see in the attached image.

Hi @Najwa S,

It is possible that the next object is unable to receive any inflow. Can it be that the object that the tank is connected to is constraining? If you are able to upload your model I can check for you if you are not sure if that is the case.

graph-1.png If a tank have the same output and input, why does the flow output vs time graph turns out to be empty?
