how do I covert a solid work drawing to skp format to download the image in flexsim
The skp format is used by SketchUp. If your shape is from SolidWorks, then you shouldn't try to get it into the skp format. Instead, use a more common CAD format, such as jt, dwg, fbx, obj, 3ds, stl, stp, or igs.
If you only have the file and not the program that generated it, you can use an application such as PolyTrans or 3ds Max to import the file and convert it to a different format.
Hi @yoni A2,
FlexSim supports dozens of major and minor 3D file formats. Most likely Solid Works or whatever 3D modeling program you are using will be able to Save As... or Export To... one of these formats.
Please see FlexSim's User Manual (Contents > Using 3D Objects > Creating Custom Objects and Animations > Creating and Importing Custom 3D Objects) for a list of valid 3D file formats that can be imported into FlexSim, along with important tips for maximizing compatibility and performance in FlexSim (important!).
The list of file formats below is current as of FlexSim version 18.2.2. Other FlexSim versions may have different file formats listed, so check your own version's User Manual to know for certain.
FlexSim will only import ascii .stl files, not binary .stl files.
FlexSim will only import VRML version 1.0 .wrl shapes, not version 2.0.
