You can do this, but if you're loading a literal queue (one with all the normal queue logic), you're going to run into errors because you're taking it out of the model and placing it into an object. It gets messy, as shown below:
I would use a pallet for what you're describing, as they're designed for that use. You can even create a pallet that looks like a queue by sampling a queue from your pallet properties.
Then you simply adjust the size and the color.
Now you can use this "queue" as a pallet flow item in your model.
