FlexSim and Sharepoint?

Moin (a greeting from the northern part of Germany),

In our company we will drop classic network drives and switch to Sharepoint. Because of that all files will be stored in Sharepoint (The path is something like https://mycompany.sharepoint.com/:w:/r/sites/Project/Shared%20Documents/myFolder/myModel.fsm?d=wcdf62c14&csf=1&f=XtHT). Is it possible to open/save files in Sharepoint with FlexSim? And is it also possible to import/export Excel-files between Sharepoint and FlexSim?

I haven't used Sharepoint myself, but I can imagine that it could work as long as there's a clear path for FlexSim to access the files.

In the case of Excel, you can try accessing the file using the Excel Interface that's built-in to FlexSim. Let us know if it works. I'm not sure about accessing .fsm files, however.

The standard file open dialog (e.g. for fsm or xlsx) can't open files from https (or I missed something ;) ). I hoped for a hidden feature in FlexSim that is capable to open/save via https

Hello Carsten, I am not an expert on SharePoint nor on File load in FlexSim. I was just looking for the phrase ‘ “file://“ on https’. There was a suggestion to create local file path to link to an Internet address for another program than FlexSim: “jamf”. For another phrase I found the URI file scheme “file:///“, too.

I am not sure, if these are possible answers. Jörg

FlexSim doesn't have direct support for SharePoint/cloud based servers, but if you do manage a way to do what you are mentioning above, please post a solution for other users that might come across this issue.
