After much struggle with AWS, I managed to be able to use the AWS as the license server. So I would like to try to summarize the stuff that I have done to setup the AWS. I will only concentrate on the setup of the security group assuming that all of us know how to create the micro instance on the EC2 and how to setup the lmadmin or lmtools. I was not able to use the lmadmin as there is some strange things happened to my installation, but I am assume yours is ok.

The following is carried out in the server:

1. Create the instance of EC2

2. Activate the license using flexsimserverutil.exe

3. Install the lmadmin or lmtools based on the instruction provided. Use flexsim_server-customPortsExample.lic as your license file.

4. Run the lmadmin or and check for the flexsim daemon port 4XXXX and set license port at fixed number between 27000-27009. I have chosen 27001.

5. Look for the flexsim_server-customPortsExample.lic and open with note pad. Replace the "lmadmin_port" with 27001 and "daemon_port" with 4XXXX. Once it is saved. You should re-read the license file again.

6. Make sure all firewall setting is done.

The following is done on your local computer with the AWS account and on FlexSim.

On AWS EC2 setting

1. Edit your the security group to allow the required port to open. They are mainly the Custom TCP ports as seen in the pic shown by Victor. Make sure the 27001, 4XXXX and 8090 are set to be opened. The Source should by Anywhere.

On FlexSim License Activation:

1. Check Concurrent license.

2. License server address: 27001@public IP address. (Do not use private IP address)

3. Apply Configuration.
