need to space out the items on merge conveyor

I am trying to build a continuous flow of items on a 3 in1 merge conveyor like one in the below youtube link.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1L9E0iLT9iI&feature=youtu.be

As the items move on the merge conveyor, if the case feed rate is high Or there is a breakdown down the line - the cases need to space out on the merge conveyor so that they don't hit each other and the minimum distance rule is maintained as per the photoeye placed shown in the model.

In the WIP model i am able to space them out on breakdown but when it resumes at accumulation - the spacing rule fails.

I also tried sending message to previous DP when the case moves to the next DP but on receiving the message it doesn't triggers it to resume the item

Looking at the video I think a better solution is to

  • put a Moving Space value on the merge legs
  • control the release onto the merge table
  • stop the merge table based on accumulation
  • start again based on depletion of the accumulation.

@Vivek D2 Here's another version with additional spacing of 30mm between the packages when they stop on the merge legs.
