Create Label with statistical value

Hello guys,

I created a simulation to simulate a bike production.

This one requires 6 operations.

Each operation has a random probability of making a mistake.

I have created a "label by percentage", to assign a label defining if the part is conform or not.

When an error is made the part continues to the quality station, which directs the part according to the label.

If a label, here "NOK" is present on the part, the operator of the quality station directs it elsewhere.

My process works pretty well but each time I launch the simulation the same parts are "NOK", I want this probability to be random in order to have different scenarios each time.

I have not seen this kind of problem on the forum, but if it is the case I apologize for the duplication.

Have a good day

Change the replication number you're using via the experimenter advanced tab.

(If you never need to debug or analyse the run then you can turn off repeat streams altogether - but be aware you'll never be able to reproduce the streams (Statistics->Repeat Random Streams) and you gain nothing over just changing the replication number other than not having to change it. But then that's what the experimenter is for - it does that for you in an experiment run.)

I still discover the software, I do not know this function, I realize the tutorial to better understand the principle.

I will come back to you after.

Thanks in advance for the idea !

I just finished the tutorial on the subject, this function will be useful for me later. Because, unless I misunderstood, this function only allows to "experiment" variables graphically.

However, this simulation will be used in parallel with a digital twin and virtual reality.

So I want to have a functional variable when I launch my simulation.

Thanks again for your help, which I'm sure will be very useful later !

With repeating streams, the replication number determines the random number stream initial values and therefore stream progress. This is independent of the experimenter function which manages runs of multiple replications for analysis purposes.

It's true, that works and it's exactly what I was looking for. Thank you @Jason Lightfoot and have a nice day !

Just one thing to add, I needed to uncheck the "Repeat Random Stream" below "experimenter" to make it work.

To make what work?

As I said, if you have repeating streams on, the replication number determines the random progression. If you have repeat streams turned off nothing controls it and that can be problematic as I've tried to explain.
