fluid library questions

Hello,

In the office we are exploring the fluids library, and we have a few questions.

  • can you separate the flow through different ports based on components of the fluid?
  • how could you keep track of a batch of fluid.. say different ships unload fluid to the system and you want to track from wich ship the content of a tank came from. (i think you could track it with process flow, but hnot sure if there is another easier way?)
  • Is it possible to track the characteristics of the products that circulate in the system?, and besides the components is there another way of setting those characteristics? (again , process flow comes to mind to keep track of this)
  • can i check the composition of a fluid with code?.so i can customize a decision.

thanks on advance for any pointers..

regards

Pablo

Is this question about the default Fluid objects in FlexSim or the FloWorks add-on module?

Hey @Pablo C4, here's an answer I made that might help you answer some of your questions. It was about using IDs and triggers to determine which fluids were mixed. It's difficult to keep track of fluid as it travels through the system, so I think the answer to most of your questions is that it is not possible with the standard fluids library. However, you may want to check out the FloWorks module which expands the functionality of fluids in FlexSim. Additionally, if you were to model your system using physical objects and conveyors, then I think it would be possible to keep track of percentages, batches, and characteristics because flowitems would be created that you could write labels to.
