How do I set my timetable such that my operators will complete the task on hand first before going for his break?

Hi,

My operators will immediately go for break as scheduled in the time table even when he is occupied with a task. The operator will leave the current task uncompleted and it will resume working once my operator is done with his break and then will resume back. How do I set my timetable such that my operators will complete the task on hand first before going for his break?

Also my running time is from 0800-1800. However, there are still flowitems and tokens that have not finish processing yet and my operators have stop working as scheduled in the timetable. How do I make my running time to end when all flowitems and tokens have gone through all processes and then sink?

Hi Mulan,

You can do this by using "Stop Input" and "Resume Input". I've included two example models, one where the logic is contained in the 3D view and the other with Process Flow.

Note: In the first model, I use a dispatcher since that sends the task sequence to the operator through its ports. In the second model, I change a label on the operator based on whether or not he is available to work, and query this label value in the "Acquire" activity.

Hi Adrian,

Thank you for your reply.

For my model, I was not able to come out with a MTBF table as it was not suitable so I used timetable to set my staffs schedule.

From the process flow, it acquires my staff first but when it is time for break, my staff will proceed for break even when it is acquired. Thus, the flowitem or token would have to wait for this staff to come back from break, and then it will flow through. My model will run for 570 minutes but then a token have yet to flow through. It acquires dispener "Pharmacist_114" at 543.29 minutes but my Pharmacist ends work at 5pm.

Due to this, the maximum time will drag to up to 250 mins and it would affect my average waiting time.

So is there anyway I could link my timetable to the process flow?

Is it possible if i link my timetable under "Functions - on down/on resume" to link with Acquire at process flow? And how do you set your destination to "2" from the second model you provided.

Thank you.

Hello Mulan,

Along with what Adrian said, you can use a MTBF MTTR table and a dispatcher to send/recieve task sequences sent to oeprators. I asked a similar question. The attached model is what I came up with the use with custom fixed resource process flows. Hope this helps! working-shift-schedule.fsm

Hi, mulan

You can select this one of two options below in attached pic. They will make you operators go to some place for breaking after finishing they task on hand.

And if you want your operators stay where they are rather than go to special place for breaking, you can choice "Travel To Location..." option and set parameters as attached pic.

Hi thank you for your reply, but I have already did that. The problem I am facing now is that my operators will leave his current task uncompleted and will proceed for his break as scheduled in his timetable. I want to make my operators to finish his task first before going to his break. How do I change this?

Thank you once again.

It can NOT work? In my model attached, it works well. (The BreakTime is 5, you will see the operator go to BreakPlace at about 10)

Maybe you can simple your questioned model and upload it.
