Cranes and Operator both required for moving

1906.fsmHi ,

In the given model , I am facing a problem. During transport of part from

1.) ( QueueMain/Rollover1/Rollover2/Rollover3) to (Stall 1, Stall 2 .. .. Stall6) I want 2 operators also to move along with the crane . (i.e Destination Stall Operator should come to the Source Station and take the part in crane and move to Destination with speed equal to that of crane )

2. After Processing in (Stall 1, Stall 2 .. .. Stall6) the part has to be moved to (Oil Pan Sub) . In this case also I need 2 Operators to move along with the crane to Oil Pan Sub and unload the part.

How can we do that ?? Urgently need of help. Tried lot off methods but not working for me.

Things like this are a LOT easier done in Process Flow. If you are not familiar with Process Flow, I hope that someone who is will jump in here and give you a quicker solution than I can come up with.

You should look in the User Manual under Process Flow and learn the basics. It will save you a ton of time.

One other question, which operators are supposed to go with the crane?

@Jeff Nordgren, (All Stalls have dedicated 3 operators ) Any 2 of them can go .

If moving for Stall 1 to Oil Pan then Stall 1 Operator Should only go. Similarly if Part is moved from ( Queue Main to Stall 1 ) then also Stall 1 Operator should go .

In any case the respective Stall Operator should move either to bring the part or move the part.

Here is an example of two operators helping load and unload a crane using Process Flow. One thing I would highly recommend doing if you haven't already: If you are new to Process Flow. Trying going through our Process Flow tutorials. In the user manual (Either in FlexSim, or here online) go to the Tutorials chapter, and the Process Flow section. There are several tutorials in there to help you get started.

Here is your model with the changes that I've made. It is in the latest version of FlexSim, version 17.1.2. It may not be exactly how you want it but should give you a good idea on how to do what you are asking using Process Flow, which is a lot easier that it would be writing manual, coordinated task sequences for all of it. Take a look at the model and see if it will work for you.

Hi @Vishal B

I have a question from your model.

I have a model similar to yours and I want my operators and the crane to use the network nodes defined for them. I've connected both my operators and the crane to one of the nodes and the operators move according the nodes but the crane doesn't change its path and moves in straight lines.

If I want the crane to move on the path defined by the network nodes is it enough to just make a connection between one of the nodes and the crane? Or is there something I'm missing?

It's good practice to ask this as a new question.

The crane will use the network navigator for non-offset Travel tasks (and so follow the path) and for some offset tasks if the crane's settings are set to use the navigator (those where it can correctly resolve the closest netnode on its connected network)
