Indicate weekday in simulation and graphs

Hi,

Would there be any way to indicate the weekday in the simulation display and in the graphs, for e.g. for patient census graph ? This would really help me to realize simulation analysis, as I wish notably to observe peak in occupancy through weekdays (for e.g. important occupancy on Wednesdays and low occupation on Saturdays) .

The date/time screen display can be displayed in various formats. Take a look at the Quick Properties for the text display. One of the format options will show day of week.

None of the graphs distinguish the day of the week that I know of, so you would need to export the raw dashboard data and create your own graph for that. I typically will run separate models for each day of the week if the differences are great and I want to concentrate my analysis on a particular day of the week.

Thanks for your answer.

The problem was actually to display weekdays on graphs. Could you please indicate me how to treat the raw data of my dashboard. I figured out how to export it, but I have no idea how to treat the time given by FlexSim (for e.g. "426.580169") and convert it into a date and time. The data that particularly interests me is the one from the graph "census history".

Would you have by any chance an instruction manual to explain how to treat raw data from FlexSim?

Unfortunately there no manual treating raw data, so let me try to answer your question directly. The number of 426.580169 in the "census history" file refers to a census recording occurring 426.580169 decimal minutes after "simulation time zero". All events in the raw data files are time stamped in minutes from an arbitrary time 0. "Simulation time zero" is usually defined as the time the model starts running. However, because you are allowed to specify your own "Clock time for start of simulation" in the little popup window accessed by clicking on the down arrow to the right of the Run Time field on the main toolbar, the "simulation time zero" may be pushed back in time from when the model actually starts running. If for instance, you specified 8am or "01:08:00" as the "Clock time for start of simulation", then the first event occurring say 1 minute after the start of the simulation, would actually be reported as occurring at time 481.00, because the simulation clock has been offset by 8 hours (480 minutes) for "simulation time zero".
