Patient enters area that should be closed with staff not on schedule

erphase12-autosave.fsmDuring one of my experimental replications a patient enters an area that is closed which skews the experimental results service time since it must wait until staff is back on duty for processing. From the output results it appears to be replication 8 (patient 390). How can I avoid this issue?

Both Triage2 and RNs2_1 go off schedule at 12 AM. Patient 390 finishes activity 20 at 11:59, at which time Triage2 is still open, so he starts walking over to Triage2. As he's walking there, the clock strikes 12 and both Triage2 and RNs2_1 go off schedule. The patient still gets in the location though because he was accepted as soon as he started walking over. The issue is that then the next activity tries to acquire RNs2_1 who is off schedule until the next morning.

The easiest way to fix this would probably be to close Triage2 slightly earlier than RNs2_1. That way no patients are accepted to Triage2 in the few minutes before RNs2_1 goes off schedule.

Another option would be to make sure you acquire RNs2_1 at the same time you acquire Triage2. For example this erphase12-escort.fsm has the RN escort the patient back to Triage. That makes it so the nurse is acquired at the same time as the triage chair.

@Matthew Gillespie could you also create a solution using break which appears to have more options which would force them to wait until they finished that last patient or that would reroute?

That isn't the issue. The staff is going off schedule because they don't have anything to do at 12 AM. So telling them to finish what they're doing before leaving won't do any good. In fact, they are already doing that. As I demonstrated in the modified version of your model I attached, if you make sure the staff has something to do at 12 AM they make sure and finish it before leaving.
