flowitems stop after conveyor

I try to use a conveyor as a buffer for an AGV.
But for some weird reason the flow items move exactly one item length over the conveyor before they stop.

This looks weird and prevents me from sensing the first item in the row with a photo eye.
I can't figure out which setting i messed up.
Can someone give me a hint?

Thanks in Advvance.
Phil

Hmm... it does that if you don't have an exit transfer. You can make it stop using a decision point - example attached. You can also use the decision point to push to a list/summon an AGV.

An alternative is to connect to something and have the exit transfer not release the item - also shown in the example.

@Philip Diem A short addition to the answer from @jason.lightfoot If you make an A connection to any other object, you can then right click the exit transfer and select: "remove connections" That way you have an exit transfer but you don't have create or write any logic.
