When you're merging slug lanes like this you need to make sure that conveyor transfers are inline transfers and not side transfers.

So that means something like this if the conveyors need to be at right angles:

Yes, or you can put curved conveyors in between each intersection.
Interesting problem! I played around with your model for awhile trying to fix the problem with the second "slug" release from the first conveyor getting stuck, but couldn't fix it. I assumed the problem had to do with the things that @anthony.johnson talked about in this post (https://answers.flexsim.com/questions/75670/view.html?overrideforward=1), so I played around with speeds and gaps, but had no success. I also played around with different arrival rates of items onto the conveyor and with different slug lengths (other than 1). I even moved the location of the conveyors and downstream decision point, but nothing seemed to work. I'm wondering if this is a bug, so I'll tag @Matthew Gillespie as well.
